Everything changes

#218: Walking down the street, you encounter a folded piece of paper on the pavement. You pick it up and read it and immediately, your life has changed. Describe this experience.

This piece of paper was a heartfelt letter from a parent, who upsettingly didn’t have long to live, to her grown up son in a neighbouring town. However, it was dated ‘2nd January 2013’. I hoped the son received it in time, as it explained why the mother had to leave and apologised for not making the most of the time they had together. After reading it, I made it my mission to return it to the son, as it is rightfully his keepsake.

I’ll never forget the words it ended with…
