Howdee fellow bloggers!

I’ve got some exciting news… well, I feel very excited about it anyway! For those of you who joined me on my newly embarked blogging journey last year, you would have noticed that I had taken up the 365 Days of Writing Prompts challenge set by the wonderful WordPress team. I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed it (and I hope the people who read them did too) as everyday was something new and it also gave me something to look forward to (and time permitting, really sink my teeth into it!).

So, now we’re in 2015 and I couldn’t decide what to do next with my blog. In all honesty, I still don’t feel like I’ve found a specific area in which I’d like to stick to writing about as, quite simply, I like writing about a wide variety of things! Therefore, I’ve decided that this year I am going to start VLOGGING!

Since my work video projects in Norway a few months ago, I’ve realised that I really enjoy video editing and presenting. So, with the help of a very dear friend of mine who gave me some fantastic advice and encouragement, I’ve been looking into gaps in the vlogging market. Luckily, I think we’ve found one that could work quite well as not only am I passionate about these topics but I can’t seem to find anyone that does anything similar.

If any fellow vloggers have any tips or advice on how to start my vlogging journey, they’d be greatly appreciated.

Stay tuned and I hope you enjoy what’s to come!

Key takeaway

#127: Give your newer sisters and brothers-in-WordPress one piece of advice based on your experiences blogging. If you’re a new blogger, what’s one question you’d like to ask other bloggers?

Since I still feel like I’m quite new to blogging, having only started at the beginning of the year, I’m going to give some advice and ask for some in return! My advice to new bloggers is to simply enjoy what you’re writing – if you don’t enjoy writing it, no-one will enjoy reading it! To me, it’s as simple as that. Posts are what you make them… literally!

What I’d love to know from other bloggers is: From your experience, how have you encouraged interaction between other bloggers and your own posts? The reason I ask, is that I’d love it if more people commented or asked me questions, as it would be great to get to know more bloggers from around the world.

Teacher’s pet

#8: Tell us about a teacher who had a real impact on your life, either for the better or the worse. How is your life different today because of him or her?

Today’s writing prompt is a tricky one! After spending half the day trying to think of who I could write about, I could only think of one teacher who, after taking his advice, has directly affected my life – even though almost 7 years later, it’s still not clear to me whether this has been for the better or not?! Back when my A Levels were nearing their inevitable end, I was one of the many students who still (frustratingly) didn’t have a clue what to do with their life. One thing was certain, I knew I wanted to go to University but I couldn’t decide on which path to take – amongst the degree topics up for consideration were Beauty Therapy Management and Psychology. However, after having a meeting with the head of Business A Levels, I asked him what he thought I’d be good at (after teaching me for the previous two years), he said that I’d be really good at Human Resource Management as I’m a people-person and extremely organised. Fast-forward to the beginning of my final year in my HR degree and I found myself with a strong dislike for all things related to Human Resources! ARGH! As you can imagine, it was not the most ideal time to realise that I didn’t actually like or even remotely enjoy my chosen degree subject, being faced with the most crucial year and of course the dreaded dissertation. However, at the end of it all, I still managed to achieve an incredible and if I do say so myself, a very well earned 2:1. Although, I do often find myself wondering whether my career path would have turned out differently if I had chosen a degree in English/Journalism … But this is destined to remain one of my life’s mysteries!
