Talk about taking a long, hard look at yourself in the mirror… Not putting clean clothes in my wardrobe straight away and hanging them over the back of my desk chair instead is a bad habit I have. And one that actually really bugs me about me!
Then there’s not being able to give compliments very well. I always feel stupid saying them or am worried that the other person would think I’m being sarcastic or condescending, so end up not giving them at all.
Worrying about the little details. I’ve noticed in all aspects of my life that, since I want to do the best job I possibly can, I will often not consider a job done until all of the little bits have been completed too. Whether it be cleaning the kitchen and I try to clean all of the nooks and crannies, or in my job, if I can’t get a sentence 100% correct I won’t submit it, causing a delay in the workflow.
#299: Tell us about a habit you’d like to break. Is there any way it can play a positive role in your life?
Procrastination when it comes to household chores. I’d love to think of chores as a positive – focus on the great outcome once it’s been completed, right?! – although unfortunately, it’s never occurred to me that way. I’d much rather be learning a new skill, building on my existing ones, working on my career, reading, catching up on the latest Big Bang Theory episodes… there’s just so many other things I’d rather be doing!
Could it play a positive role in my life… I honestly have no idea! Any suggestions fellow bloggers?
