Regrets, I’ve had a few

#249: What’s your biggest regret? How would your life have been different if you’d made another decision?

I don’t think I have any major regrets in life to be quite honest. I’m a strong believer in everything happening for a reason… yes I do regret staying as an unpaid intern for such a long time (FYI it was 13/14 months or so), but thinking of how my life could have been different if I had changed this is rather pointless. All I’d be doing I’d torturing myself with what could have possibly happened, instead of focussing on my next move forward (which FYI is finding a proper paying job with an actual contract so that I can move into London). I prefer to look on the positive side of things – if I hadn’t of remained an intern, I wouldn’t have been sent to Iceland; I wouldn’t have been able to do all of the filmed interview junkets; I wouldn’t have gone to the NTAs two years in a row; and I certainly wouldn’t have been able to teach myself so much, that I’d become indispensable to any media company or publisher.

Groundhog day

#244: In the comedy “Groundhog Day” Bill Murray experienced the same day again and again, stuck in a time loop until he got the day “right.” What day would you choose to repeat until you got it right? Do you think it’s ever possible to get life “right”?

I haven’t seen this film but it very much sounds like the original of Tom Cruise’s latest film, the Edge of Tomorrow (not that I’ve seen that either… but I’ve seen enough trailers to get the gist!). I don’t think I would chose to redo a day, as I’m a strong believer in everything happening for a reason. Plus I don’t think it is ever possible to get a day right… I mean, of course it would be nice to redo an interview I had with Egmont publications last year and for the outcome to be that I got the job, but obviously the cosmos has got other plans for me. So I just have to sit tight, enjoy the ride and see what happens!
