Daring do

#346: Tell us about the time you rescued someone else (person or animal) from a dangerous situation. What happened? How did you prevail?

Is it weird that I can’t think of a time where I’ve rescued someone… Maybe it’s because I don’t put myself in dangerous situations?!

Safety first

#324: Share the story of a time you felt unsafe.

Walking home from a night out. I hadn’t wanted to leave as it was such a great networking evening and to be fair, it wasn’t even as if there was anyone around making me feel uneasy. What it did make me realise however, was that there are hardly any street lights on at midnight. That was what terrified me most, the fact that it was pitch black (I literally couldn’t see my hand in front of my face… I tried!) and it was insanely, spookily quiet.

I must admit, during the summer I do tend to get quite annoyed that random street lights in our area are left on throughout the day. Why don’t the council save their money by turning them off and keeping them off when it’s light, and use more of them during the dead of night?! Or at least invest in motion sensor street lights so that the path ahead is lit during a potentially dangerous journey home!
