St George’s Day: The dragons that live among us

Today, 23 April, is St George’s Day – a day in which England’s patron saint (St George) is remembered on the anniversary of his death. Whenever St George is mentioned, it’s common to think of the legendary battle he is said to have had with the dragon that ate humans.
