23/31 The possibilities are endless

23. Your dream job

If skill had no boundaries (an make believe was in fact possible)… my dream job would be a professional mermaid that trains dolphins underwater. But back to the real world…

If I didn’t get stressed easily, it would have to be a wedding planner. I absolutely LOVE organising things and am a hopeless romantic, so feel like arranging two peoples happy day and ensuring that everything was done to perfection would be a dream job.

If I could earn a regular income from it (or if such a role even existed), I would be a full-time junket interviewer. Over the last few years I’ve been lucky enough to interview film character designers and creators, glacier experts and even a robot cockatoo, and every single time I’ve loved it.

Again… back to the real world…

Luckily, even though I am a little stress pot at times, I am already doing my dream job. I get to write for kids every day, which (I’m hoping) is making me a better writer feature by feature. I’ve already learnt so much in the seven months I’ve been working there and can’t wait to see else the the future has in store for me!

Life line

#224: You’re on a long flight and a palm reader sitting next to you insists she reads your palm. You hesitate, but agree. What does she tell you?

That I should continue to pursue a career in the media industry, keeping focussed and determined, as I have a bright future in it. She continues to tell me that I’ve worked very hard to get where I am today, having done so on my own merit, and it’s soon to pay off! I’m reassured that once I have that dream job, everything else (both on a personal and professional level) will become clear and fall into place.

I like this palm reader…
